Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, the provider of the qualified electronic signature certificate is EuroCert Sp. z o.o. – one of the five trust service providers in Poland authorized by the National Certification Center (NCCert). A one-time qualified signaturepurchased on doPodpisu.pl meets the requirements of the eIDAS Regulation (EU Regulation No. 910/2014), which means that it has full legal effect and is equivalent to a handwritten signature throughout the entire European Union.
With a one-time qualified signature in the PAdES format, you can sign any document saved as a PDF, e.g. contracts, invoices, powers of attorney, official letters, HR documents, reports, resolutions, or technical documentation. Such a signature is legally equivalent to a handwritten signature and is recognized by offices and institutions across the EU.
Please note that PAdES signatures work only with PDF files – other formats, such as .docx or .xml, require XAdES or CAdES signatures.
Not sure if a particular document can be signed with a one-time qualified signature? Fill out the contact form with the document name and the destination where it should be sent, and we will provide you with the information in a reply message.
No, at this moment we do not offer the functionality to sign documents in formats other than PDF. Currently, we support only PDF files in the PAdES standard, which is widely accepted and compliant with European eIDAS regulations. However, we are mindful of user needs and plan to introduce support for additional file formats in the future.
Identity verification on the doPodpisu.pl platform is a fully remote and automated video verification process carried out through the Nect Wallet app. The user confirms their identity using their phone camera by completing two simple steps:
Recording a Polish ID card or passport,
Recording a video selfie while reading two random words aloud.
The verification process involves analyzing the photo of the document, checking personal data and security features, and then comparing the user’s face with the photograph on the document. If everything matches, the identity is automatically confirmed and registered in our system.
The document must not be damaged or illegible and must be valid at the time of verification. Documents issued in alphabets other than Latin (e.g. Cyrillic, Arabic, Chinese) should have names and personal data transliterated according to international standards. Documents such as driving licenses, residence cards, and other ID cards are not accepted for identity verification.
The identity verification is a one-time process – you do not need to go through it every time you sign a document. For security reasons, the verification remains valid for one year, after which you will be asked to repeat it. To perform re-verification, at least one active qualified signature is required.
Obtaining a one-time qualified signature with identity verification may take up to 15 minutes from placing the order to being ready to sign documents. The duration mainly depends on the user’s level of technological proficiency in handling the order process, account setup, mobile applications, and preparation for the procedure. Below are estimated times for an average user, covering three stages: placing the order, creating an account, identity verification.
Average time to obtain a signature with identity verification for a medium-level tech-savvy user:
Placing the order: 3–5 minutes
Registering an account on the platform: 4–5 minutes
Identity verification: 3–5 minutes
Total: approx. 10–15 minutes
In every case, the process is fully remote, requires no contact with support, and all data is secure. A well-prepared user can start signing documents within just a few minutes after placing the order.
The information “1 one-time signature = 1 signing (up to 5 files)” means that when you purchase one unit of any one-time signature, you gain the ability to sign documents in a single operation, which may include up to 5 separate files with a total size not exceeding 20 MB.
The validity period of the signature after activation (i.e., once you start using it) depends on the selected option and ranges from 24 hours to 365 days.
One-time qualified signature – 24 hours (1 day)
Package of 5 multi-use qualified signatures – 7 days
Package of 20 multi-use qualified signatures – 30 days
Package of 100 multi-use qualified signatures – 365 days
A single signature allows you to perform one signing operation.
A signature package (bundle) is a set of multi-use qualified signatures offered in larger quantities and with a longer validity period. Depending on the selected option, a package allows you to perform 5, 20, or 100 signing operations. Each option includes up to 5 files in a single process, with a total size of up to 20 MB.
If you are not sure which option best suits your needs, use the contact form – we will be happy to provide detailed information and recommend the right solution.
